A 30-year-old woman was found dead in a well under suspicious circumstances at Melkunda (K) village in Kalaburagi taluk on Friday. Her family members have alleged that she was murdered and her body was later disposed of in the well.The deceased was identified as Lakshmi Ambanna Kumbar, a native of Malchapur village in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district.According to her relatives, Lakshmi had married Ambanna Kumbar of Melkunda (K) about a decade ago. They alleged that Ambanna had concealed his existing marriage when marrying Lakshmi.Her relatives alleged that Lakshmi’s relationship with the family became strained following the return of Ambanna’s first wife, leading to repeated harassment. They alleged that Lakshmi was assaulted and killed on Thursday and that her body was subsequently thrown into a well to destroy the evidence.The police said the body was recovered from the well and shifted for post-mortem examination.
