With the NEET re-test scheduled for Saturday, the Mysuru district administration has put in place elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth and incident-free conduct of the examination across 21 centres in the city.Presiding over a preparatory meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday, Additional Deputy Commissioner Aishwarya R. directed officials of all concerned departments to make comprehensive arrangements and ensure that the examination is conducted without any lapses.A total of 7,886 candidates are expected to appear for the test, which will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.NEET Coordinator Mithilesh Kumar said frisking and biometric verification of candidates would begin at 11 a.m. at all centres. Candidates will be allowed entry only up to 1.30 p.m., after which the gates will be closed. He urged students to strictly follow the instructions mentioned in their admit cards.One Circle Inspector, three male police personnel and two women police personnel will be deployed at each examination centre for security reasons.The district administration has instructed the Mysuru City Corporation to ensure cleanliness in and around the examination venues. The Health Department has been asked to station medical personnel at centres to provide immediate assistance in the event of any health emergency involving candidates.The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has been directed to operate additional buses to help candidates reach their centres on time, while the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has been tasked with ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the examination.Special arrangements, including wheelchairs and other essential facilities, will be made available for differently-abled candidates, officials said.The examination will be conducted at various institutions across the city, including the Karnataka State Open University, the Regional Institute of Education, Maharani’s colleges, Government Pre-University Colleges, Kendriya Vidyalaya and other educational institutions.NEET coordinator N.R.
