As many as 5,570 students from Dakshina Kannada district will write the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, to be held across 12 centres in Mangaluru, on June 21.At a meeting on Friday to review preparedness, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) K. Raju said security in and around examination centres would be strengthened with the deployment of armed city police and 30 Central Armed Paramilitary Force (CAPF) personnel.To ensure fairness in the conduct of the examination, two supervisors will be posted in each examination hall. Candidates will be screened using devices provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students are barred from using electronic devices, mobile phones, pen drives, earphones, microphones, and Bluetooth devices inside the examination hall.Students will be allowed into the examination centres from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The re-examination will be held from 2 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. While all students will be given 15 extra minutes, special students will get one hour of additional time to write the paper.The NTA has deputed two officials to oversee the conduct of the examination in the district. Apart from students, examination personnel will also be barred from using mobile phones during the examination.
