Tottenham Hotspur has shut the door on any summer departure for Micky van de Ven. The 25-year-old Dutch centre-back, who has been the subject of persistent transfer rumors for months, will remain at the North London club heading into the new season.
What happened and why it matters
Van de Ven’s current contract with Tottenham runs until 2029, giving the club roughly 3.5 years of security on one of their most prized defensive assets.
Reports from March through April 2026 painted a different picture, though. Multiple outlets indicated van de Ven had turned down initial contract negotiations and was open to leaving.
As of mid-June 2026, the club has reaffirmed its position: van de Ven is staying. No offers have been publicly disclosed, and no valuation figures have been put on the table, at least not officially.
