Thoothukudi Q Branch police held a man and seized shampoo stock intended for smuggling to Sri Lanka at Inigo Nagar Beach in the early hours of Friday.Acting on a tip off, the Q Branch police conducted a patrol at the Inigo Nagar Beach area. During the operation, an autorickshaw carrying 48,960 shampoo sachets in 51 cartons packed in eight sacks, was intercepted and the goods seized.The police also arrested the driver of the vehicle identified as A. Mariya Nisanthan, 32, from Vellaipatti. The autorickshaw used for transportation was also seized.The police later handed over the accused, seized goods and the vehicle to the Customs Department for further action.
