Sofia will host a citywide gathering on June 25 marking #BourdainDay, celebrating the birthday of chef, writer, and television host Anthony Bourdain. The event, now in its eighth consecutive year, honors his legacy of presenting food as a cultural bridge rather than a luxury experience.
Organized by In Food Veritas, the 2026 edition is set to be one of the largest so far and will take place outdoors in the garden at 23 Shipka Street in the center of Sofia. The program is designed as an open-air social event bringing together food, drinks, music, and storytelling in the spirit of Bourdain’s philosophy.
The gathering will feature a curated selection of chefs, bartenders, winemakers, and creative participants presenting street food meant for sharing, along with craft cocktails, wine, craft beer, and desserts. Musical accompaniment will be provided throughout the day by DJ Ihou.
Among the announced participants are In Food Veritas, Nomad.Soul.Table, FunKooks with their new project Pileto, The Holy Smokes BBQ, Gillardeau oysters, The Traveling Chef Tsvetan Ivanov, Sharena Fabrika, Svetulka ice creams, The Bottle wine selection, Chist Zryal Mlac cocktails with Niki Neykov, and Bulgarian craft beer Sha№5, with additional names expected to be added.
