Prime Minister Rumen Radev held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the European Council meeting in Brussels, in what both sides described as a substantive discussion focused on energy security, bilateral cooperation and future industrial projects.
According to the Bulgarian government, the conversation centered on Bulgaria’s strategic role in maintaining energy stability in the region through natural gas supplies, electricity generation and power transmission. The two leaders also explored opportunities for industrial cooperation, with particular attention given to technology transfer and potential joint initiatives related to drone production.
Zelensky later revealed that the discussion went beyond energy issues and included plans to deepen cooperation between the two countries. In a message published on X, he thanked Radev for what he described as “substantive talks” and said the two leaders had reviewed prospects for expanding bilateral relations.
