Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth ₹2,400 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to more than 15 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) on Friday, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on the eve of the function.He will credit incentives up to ₹15,000 for first-time employees, while up to ₹3,000 per month per new employee for employers during an event at Vigyan Bhawan here, Mandaviya told journalists.Ahead of that, the PM will interact with a few young first-time employees and employers benefiting under PM-VBRY, the Minister added.regional programmesSimultaneous regional programmes will be organised at 200 industrial clusters across the country to felicitate employers and employees. Appointment letters too will be distributed to employees mostly from the MSME sector in the presence of respective Governors, Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, State Labour Ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of legislative assemblies, mayors, and other distinguished dignitaries, as per the .The new labour codes mandate employers to give appointment letters to the recruited workers.Under PM-VBRY, the government has provided total outlay of ₹99,446 crore and targeted 3.5 crore jobs creation in 2 years.Under the scheme, up to ₹15,000 is provided for first-time employees. Employers get up to ₹3,000 per month per new employee under the scheme.To boost employment in the manufacturing sector, extended benefits are being provided for up to four years under the scheme.Since August 2025, more than 63 lakh first-time employees have been brought into the formal workforce under PM-VBRY, of which nearly 30 per cent are women.More than 80 per cent of establishments incentivised under the scheme are small enterprises with fewer than 25 workers, indicating PM-VBRY’s role in supporting small and emerging enterprises while promoting employment generation, as per the Ministry.Published on June 18, 2026
