Deputy President Mashatile will appear before the NCOP on Thursday to respond to questions on SAPS corruption measures, corrective actions by the DPCI and NPA, and the Madlanga Commission.
Deputy President Paul Mashatile is set to appear before the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), where he will respond to Questions for Oral Reply in Parliament.
According to Acting Deputy Presidential spokesperson Keith Khoza, Mashatile, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cabinet Committee and Leader of Government Business in Parliament, will brief the House on measures aimed at detecting and preventing corruption within the South African Police Service (SAPS).
He is also expected to outline corrective actions being taken by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in light of proceedings linked to the Madlanga Commission.
In addition, Mashatile will update the NCOP on mechanisms used to assess progress under the District Development Model, including One Plans in 16 district and metropolitan municipalities, as well as monitoring catalytic projects under each plan.
