IFP KZN MPL Ncamisile Jerich Nkwanyana will be laid to rest on Friday, June 19, in KwaDukuza.
As the IFP and KwaZulu-Natal legislature mourns the death of their distinguished member, Ncamisile Jerich Nkwanyana, her grieving daughter described her not only as a politician but as a mother who raised her four children single-handedly after her husband’s death earlier in life.
Nkwanyana passed away at her home in KwaDukuza, also known as Stanger, on the North Coast, on June 12, leaving behind her two surviving daughters, Gugulethu Shange, 46, and Ntombizamayikwe Nkwanyana, 51, and three grandchildren.
As the IFP MPL, Nkwanyana chaired the Public Participation and Petitions Committee from 2024.
She was previously a member of various portfolio committees, including health.
