The Banking Coordination Council acknowledged on Wednesday, June 17, that certain services at four banks—Bank Melli, Bank Tejarat, Bank Saderat, and the Export Development Bank of Iran remain restricted after four days.

The council had previously announced on June 13 that a “limited cyberattack” had targeted these four banks, causing disruptions in the delivery of several banking services.

In its new statement, the Banking Coordination Council noted that while some banking services have been restored, certain features remain temporarily restricted. The body emphasized that fully resolving the disruption requires technical processes and time to ensure the stability and proper functioning of the systems.

The council also stated that the disruption was caused by technical issues within the processing and communication infrastructure and is unrelated to customer account information, balances, or financial data.

According to the announcement, technical teams from infrastructure service providers and experts from the four banks are working around the clock to completely resolve the issue and stabilize the systems. Meanwhile, measures are underway to mitigate the impact of the situation on customers’ daily banking services.
