ALBAWABA - A cyberattack on Sunday targeted Iran's banking industry, affecting four banks; Bank Melli, Bank Tejarat, ​Bank Saderat and ​the Export Development Bank of ‌Iran.The attack, targeting a shared communication structure used by each of the four banks had technical teams scrambling to secure the banks' systems and implement protective measures, it was reported that there was no effect or breach on customer data, according to Iran's banking coordination council.While no customer data or information was breached, the council said that recovery efforts were underway to restore normal operations and that these efforts might temporarily affect some banking services for the customers.Several Iranian bank card services were disrupted on Saturday, with customers reporting failed payments, blocked transfers and POS errors in messages sent to Iran International.
