He added that “the main thing” people should take away from the news is to stop putting off getting checked because they’re too busy.“If anything like this happens to any of your friends and you just said to my best mate, you've gotta be supported through that whole journey,” he told MailOnline.“And that's where I've been – I've been right by his side and his spirits are really good, so thank you. He's strong-minded – he's got a strong mind on him – which is good.”Cooper praised Clarkson for urging people to get checked, stating: “The message about catching anything early is quite important. That's the main thing. You've gotta keep checking, you know what I mean? It's all these things. “People can sit there and say I'm busy, busy, busy. But actually sometimes you've gotta go, ‘I'm gonna just have to check and see if I'm OK.'”Kaleb Cooper discovered Jeremy Clarkson has cancer in emotional moment on screen (Prime Video)Watch Apple TV+ free for 7 dayNew subscribers only. £9.99/mo. after free trial. His baby was born soon after, and he returned home within an hour and a half. Before the final episodes of season five of Clarkson's Farm aired, Clarkson warned fans on Instagram that they would be “really, really difficult” to watch. In a 2025 column for The Sunday Times, Clarkson had written that he gets medical check-ups every couple of years and undergoes regular prostate examinations.“I’ve had too many friends go down with prostate cancer, and all it takes to get on top of the situation early is a moment or two of being a bit cross-eyed,” he wrote. “You get the all-clear and the doc goes home happy. What’s not to like?”Prostate cancer develops in the prostate gland, a small gland below the bladder that helps produce semen. It is often slow-growing and symptomless in its early stages, and the risk rises with age, family history, and certain genetic mutations.Common symptoms include frequent urination, difficulty peeing, weak urine flow, and blood in urine or semen; advanced cases may cause pelvic or back pain and unexplained weight loss.According to Prostate Cancer UK, prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, with more than 64,000 new cases recorded in 2022.Clarkson’s cancer diagnosis comes less than two years after a major heart scare. In the opening episode of season five of Clarkson's Farm, he revealed doctors had told him he may have been days away from a heart attack after discovering severe coronary artery disease.Clarkson said one artery was completely blocked, while two others were dangerously clogged, leaving his heart starved of blood before doctors inserted stents.“I’m back and not dead,” he told Cooper, adding: “The grim reaper will have to wait. It was f***ing close, though.”
