Michelle Obama's fashion has changed a lot throughout her nearly 30 years in the public eye.Obama, 61, was known for simple dresses in the early years of her husband's administration, turning heads in sleeveless looks. However, in the years since Barack Obama left office, the former first lady has shown off new sides of her style, experimenting with suits, bold patterns, and outfits packed with symbolism.Through it all, her personal ethos about fashion seems to have stayed consistent: "I always say that women should wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves," she told Vogue in 2013. "That's what I always try to do."Here's a look at how Michelle Obama's style has evolved since she first hit the national stage.

At the August 2008 Democratic National Convention, Obama wore a simple turquoise dress.
