The president seemed to suggest that the memorandum might not result in a deal with Iran to put a permanent end to the conflict that would look good for him."This is a memorandum of understanding," Trump said. "It's very important, but it might not be the kind of document that I should be signing."Trump's comment about Vance came at the very end of a press conference with reporters, where he gave the final question to Fox News' Peter Doocy.Doocy asked, "Why not stick around for the signing ceremony with this Iran peace deal?"Trump replied, "I might."When Trump added the memorandum might not be something he should sign as president, Doocy said, "There's some element to this where you send the vice president, if it works out great, you look like a genius for sending him.""And if it doesn't work out, it's the vice president's fault?" Doocy asked.Trump answered: "I like that idea.""Sure, this way, if it works out, I'm going to take the credit. If it doesn't work out, I'm blaming JD," Trump said."You better be careful, JD. He's going to turn his plane around and get the hell out of here. Yeah, I like that idea. I think it's a good idea," the president said. This is breaking news. Please refresh for updates.
