Acer Inc chairman Jason Chen speaks at a gathering of business leaders in Taipei yesterday. Chen said that price increases for key components such as memory chips have begun to slow, but the market shows no signs of price drops yet. Although PC shipments might decline in the second half of the year due to elevated component costs, the increase in average selling prices of PCs is expected to support the company’s revenue soundly, he said.
