A 12-year-old boy, who faces an attempted murder charge after police say he struck an officer while fleeing in a stolen car, has been transferred into custody at a youth centre following surgery, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) have confirmed.
Kristy Denette, a spokesperson for the SIU, told the Star in an email that the boy underwent surgery on June 15 and that the agency has designated one subject official and four witness officials, while interviews are forthcoming.
