Ontario’s police watchdog have launched an investigation after a 23-year-old driver was hospitalized with serious injuries following multiple collisions and ditching his car after fleeing a Peterborough Police Service officer.
The man was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre after the Friday morning crash on County Rd. 10, just south of Hwy. 115. Parts of his Dodge Charger were found in a nearby ditch, while another part of the wreckage sparked a small grass fire, which was extinguished by fire crews.
