My boys

Winter chills arrived, and with it comes runny noses, random coughs and the annual reminder that children are, apparently, supposed to get sick so their immune systems can develop. At least that's what everyone keeps telling me. Especially since my two-year-old started crèche.

You know the saying: their immune systems need to adapt. Well, that sounds lovely in theory.

In reality, every time one of my boys sneezes, I convince myself we're on the brink of a medical emergency. Anyone who knows me knows I am a panic mechanic. I don't handle sickness well. Not when it's my children. Not when it's family. Not even when it's friends.
