Addressing supporters in Pretoria, Malema reiterated calls for Ramaphosa’s resignation, saying the EFF will pursue impeachment-related action and keep the Phala Phala issue in the public domain.
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of bringing the Presidency into disrepute over the ongoing Phala Phala matter, saying the party will continue pushing for his removal through Parliament and the courts.
His remarks come amid ongoing legal and parliamentary processes linked to the Phala Phala scandal, including Ramaphosa’s urgent court application to halt Parliament’s impeachment proceedings.
He has also sought to review the Section 89 independent panel report, which found prima facie evidence of possible serious misconduct relating to the 2020 burglary at his Limpopo farm.
The report, compiled by an independent panel chaired by former Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo, concluded that there was prima facie evidence that the president may have violated the Constitution in relation to the incident involving the alleged theft of foreign currency at the farm.
