The Ukrainian Defense Forces on June 16 and overnight into June 17 carried out strikes against a tanker belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet in the Black Sea, a bridge over the North Crimean Canal in the Kherson region, as well as military logistics facilities and command posts of Russian forces in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

According to the General Staff, in the Black Sea, the tanker FINA A was hit. The vessel is under sanctions by the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ukraine.

The target was confirmed as hit. The extent of damage is being clarified.

The General Staff explained that the tanker was used to transport oil and petroleum products on behalf of the Russian Federation in circumvention of international sanctions and restrictions. The vessel is 244.6 meters long, with a gross tonnage of 62,002.
