The noise surrounding Bafana Bafana has been impossible to avoid since the defeat to Mexico.
The criticism. The tactical debates. The scrutiny around Hugo Broos’ formation switch. The questions over selection decisions and the decision to persist with building from the back under pressure.
All of it has followed South Africa into the buildup to their crucial FIFA World Cup clash against the Czech Republic. Yet, inside the Bafana camp, the focus has shifted away from the chaos outside.
The mood around training this week has not resembled a squad collapsing under pressure. Instead, there has been a noticeable attempt to reset mentally before what is effectively a must-win match. That process did not began almost immediately after the Mexico defeat.
