Cold weather continues across South Africa.

Much of South Africa is set to remain under the grip of winter on Wednesday, with cool to cold temperatures expected across the country despite the absence of any severe weather alerts from the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

The forecaster said most provinces will experience cold conditions, while some eastern regions could see light rain and scattered showers. Morning fog is also expected in several areas, potentially reducing visibility for commuters and motorists.

Gauteng is forecast to be partly cloudy and cool throughout the day, with moderate levels of ultraviolet radiation.

In Mpumalanga, patches of fog are expected during the morning in eastern areas before conditions improve. The province will remain cool to cold, although warmer temperatures are anticipated in the Lowveld. Light rain and isolated showers are likely in the east, while drizzle may occur along the escarpment.
