Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has become one of the breakout stars of the FIFA 2026 World Cup, with his Instagram following reportedly soaring from fewer than 50,000 to more than 9.4 million after his heroic display against Spain.
The 40-year-old shot to global prominence following Cape Verde’s stunning 0-0 draw with tournament favourites Spain in Atlanta, a result widely regarded as one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history.
Vozinha was at the heart of the shock result, producing a series of outstanding saves to frustrate the 2010 world champions and help the Blue Sharks earn their first-ever World Cup point.
