The UP WCL is a credit card-sized computer from AAEON that’s about the same size and shape as a Raspberry Pi Model B. But this model has an Intel Wildcat Lake processor instead of an Arm chip, support for up to 24GB of onboard LPDDR5 memory and up to 256GB of UFS storage. It doesn’t have built-in WiFi or Bluetooth, but there’s an M.2 2230 slot that lets you bring your own wireless card. And with a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port, the UP WCL supports faster wired networking than the Raspberry Pi 5.UP WCLSince AAEON’s single-board computer has an Intel processor, it’s fully compatible with Windows 11, Ubuntu, and most other GNU/Linux distributions. But performance will likely vary greatly depending on which Intel processor you opt for. Others include the UP Nexus WCL, which is a 101.6 x 101.6mm (4″ x 4″) mainboard with support for up to 48GB of RAM, dual 2.5 GbE LAN ports, an M.2 2242/2280 slot, and 40-pin GPIO header, among other things, and the UP WCL Edge and UP Nexus WCL Edge, which pack those boards into tiny cases to provide a complete PC.AAEON says mass production for each model is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
