No attempts by Russian forces to enter Ukrainian territory have been recorded along the border in the Chernihiv region, though shelling continues from across the border.
This was stated in a television broadcast by Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andrii Demchenko, according to Ukrinform.
“As of now, in the Chernihiv region along the border with Russia, we are not detecting any movement activity or attempts by infantry or sabotage and reconnaissance groups to cross into Ukrainian territory. However, the risk of a change in enemy tactics remains. Currently, artillery shelling prevails, with occasional aviation strikes and drone attacks,” Demchenko said.
At the same time, he noted that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups continue attempts to infiltrate the Chernihiv and Sumy regions to mine Ukrainian territory, although such activity has decreased recently.
“For the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the threat of enemy sabotage groups remains. Even though their activity has significantly decreased, attempts still occur periodically, particularly aimed at mining areas in the hope that Ukrainian forces will be blown up by such devices,” he said.
