More than three months after the Law Roach red carpet interview heard 'round the world, Tom Holland is speaking out about those Zendaya marriage rumors. In a new Esquire profile published June 16, the Spider-Man actor, 30, appeared to finally confirm that he and Zendaya secretly tied the knot.In the interview, Holland discussed the fact that AI-generated images purporting to show his and Zendaya's wedding spread online this year, and he noted that his grandmother saw them and thought that she hadn't been invited. This led Esquire to ask the "Odyssey" actor if he had to "send out messages to any other family members."After a long pause, Holland replied, "No, because they were all there," seemingly confirming that a secret wedding ceremony did, in fact, take place, with family in attendance. When the Esquire journalist told Holland they did not realize the wedding had already happened, he declined to get into further details. "That's all you’ll get on that," he said.USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Zendaya and Holland for comment. The "Spider-Man" costars' engagement was confirmed in January 2025, but rumors that they secretly tied the knot have swirled since March, when celebrity stylist Law Roach appeared to spill the beans at the Actor Awards. Speaking to Access Hollywood on the red carpet, Roach claimed that "the wedding has already happened" and "you missed it." When asked if this is really the case, Roach added, "It's very true."But in the months since this comment, neither Holland nor Zendaya confirmed if they were married, even as Zendaya went on a press tour promoting a movie, "The Drama," which was all about her character preparing for her wedding.During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in March, Zendaya danced around the rumors, though she did make light of the AI-generated pictures of the wedding that were going viral."I was out and about in real life and people are like, 'Oh my god, your wedding photos are really gorgeous.' And I was like, 'Babe they're AI.' They're not real,'" she said.Holland and Zendaya met working together on 2017's "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which introduced the actress as Peter Parker's friend and eventual love interest, MJ. They've continued to play romantic partners in the Marvel franchise since then and both return in July's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," which continues a storyline where MJ no longer remembers who Peter is. They also both star in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," set for release in July. The actors have been famously private about their relationship for years and rarely speak about it publicly. Holland did, however, discuss how they support each other in his Esquire profile."We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else," he said. "So, for me, I found my person. She's my best friend, and I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period."Contributing: Anna Kaufman, USA TODAY
