The fresh offer would tie him to the club until at least 2030.Howell signed his first professional contract last summer after becoming Brighton’s youngest Premier League player in May 2025, aged 17 years and 29 days old, as a late substitute in a 3-2 home win against Liverpool.The locally born academy product has made seven first team appearances in total, including a goal and two assists in the Carabao Cup. He has represented England from Under-16s to Under-19s level.What is Howell’s pathway?Howell forms part of a crowded pool of talented young wingers at Brighton. They have just signed 18-year-old Nigerian right winger Zadok Johanna from Swedish side AIK for £21.5million.The Athletic revealed in April that 20-year-old former Arsenal prospect Amario Cozier-Duberry is in ongoing discussions about a new contract after a successful season at Bolton Wanderers for the right winger, helping his loan club to promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs.Nehemiah Oriola has also been offered a new deal. The 19-year-old former Manchester United and West Ham United left winger made his first team debut as a late substitute in a 3-0 home win against Leeds in November.Yankuba Minteh heads the queue. The Gambia international has made 66 Premier League appearances across the past two seasons following a £30m move from Newcastle United.
