Antonio Rudiger isn’t going anywhere. The 33-year-old center-back has signed a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2027, in a deal reportedly worth approximately €29.2 million in gross value before bonuses.

Rudiger described the renewal as a “dream come true,” which, for a player who arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea just four years ago, carries a certain poetic weight.

What the deal looks like

The extension, confirmed on June 16, follows what was reportedly a lengthy negotiation period. The club has a well-documented policy of offering shorter contract renewals to players over 30.

He’s been one of the most consistent defenders in La Liga since arriving in July 2022 on a four-year deal.
