Members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church on Tuesday staged a protest over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, demanding the immediate rescue and release of schoolchildren, teachers and the principal reportedly abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The protesters gathered in the morning carrying placards with various inscriptions condemning insecurity, kidnappings and attacks on schools, while calling on the government to take urgent action to secure the release of the victims and address the growing wave of violence across the country.
Some of the placards displayed during the demonstration read: "Release Our Children/Teachers In Captivity," "Stop Kidnapping, Stop Insecurity," "We Want End To Bandit Attacks On Our Schools," "Government Please Stop The Killings, We Need Better Governance," and "Stop The Killings In Nigeria, We Are Dying."
