A 56-year-old man was arrested in Athens on Monday for illegally importing, possessing and selling antiquities online, police said in a press release.
The suspect is expected to face charges relating to the violation of laws for the protection of antiquities.
Police said the man imported ancient coins and objects from abroad and attempted to sell some of them through an social networking platform.
Officers who searched his residence found and seized 36 coins, 15 metal buckles, nine rings, eight arrowheads, as well as a clay bottle, a clay handle, an object with a female head, a vase and a necklace placed in a frame.
