MINNA — The Niger State Government has ordered the immediate shutdown of six illegal mineral processing sites located in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.
The operation, carried out on Saturday by the State Ministry of Mineral Resources, was supported by security operatives, including officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mining Marshals from the Federal Headquarters in Abuja.
The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Muhammad Qasim Danjuma, alongside the North Central Zonal Head of Mining Marshals, A.C. Onoja, and other security personnel mandated to protect the nation’s mineral resources.
