The Niger State Ministry of Mineral Resources and the Niger State Police Command have deepened partnership against Illegal mining and other related security threats across the state.

In a statement issued by Shaibu Yahaya Agaie, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Qasim Danjuma Mohammed, Commissioner for Mineral Resources, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, Commissioner of Police, at the State Police Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura, Minna, the state capital.

Speaking during the visit, Mohammed stressed that although the Ministry and the Police Command are separate institutions, their relationship is based on operational collaboration rather than hierarchy.

He commended Commissioner of Police and officers of the Command for their efforts in sanitising and tackling criminal activities in the state.

He also assured the Police of the Ministry’s continued cooperation in addressing illegal mining, the activities of illegal mineral task collectors, and other related infractions.
