Delyan Peevski has carried out a major reshuffle of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) leadership, removing several senior figures from the party’s top bodies following a meeting of the Central Council, according to an official statement.
The changes affect both the Central Executive Committee and the Central Operational Bureau. Yordan Tsonev and Stanislav Anastasov were removed from their positions as deputy chairmen, while Hamid Hamid and Bayram Bayram are no longer part of the party’s central operational leadership. Some of those removed are MPs, while others failed to secure seats in the most recent parliamentary elections.
According to the party, the decision follows an internal assessment of party structures, election performance, and upcoming political priorities.
“I have heard the people and I will always hear them,” Peevski said, stressing that he had held multiple meetings with party members and supporters in the period following the elections.
He added: “I will be at the forefront and together with the entire leadership we will protect everyone, regardless of whether they are mayor, municipal councilor or ordinary member, and we will not allow anyone to be unfairly pressured and repressed.”
