Behrouz Razavi, the veteran broadcaster, host, and iconic voice actor of Iranian radio and television, passed away on Sunday evening, June 14.
According to published reports, Razavi had been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Karaj due to an ongoing illness before passing away on Sunday night.
Mr. Razavi was widely regarded as one of the most recognizable and enduring figures in Iranian audio and visual media. He launched his professional career in 1968 as a radio broadcaster. Over a career spanning more than five decades, his distinct voice resonated across numerous radio and television programs, documentaries, and highly popular broadcasting series.
For generations of Iranian audiences, Behrouz Razavi’s voice was synonymous with cultural, literary, and television documentary programming. He also worked extensively as a narrator and voice actor for non-fiction projects.
Among his most acclaimed works was the narration of the documentary series “Mostanad-e Iran” (Documentary of Iran), directed by Hamid Mojtahedi. Over the past decades, his deep, resonant tone became one of the most familiar and beloved voices in the history of Iranian broadcasting.
