Anambra State Government lawyers, on Monday, shunned a court hearing on the matter of a fake pastor allegation against Abia-born Bishop Emeka Nwankpa.
At the resumed hearing of the case involving Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, a formidable legal team comprising three Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) and seven other lawyers appeared in court to represent and defend the revered cleric against allegations by the Government of Anambra State that he is a fake pastor.
However, neither the Attorney General of Anambra State nor any legal representative of the state government appeared in court to prosecute or defend the allegation.
In view of the absence of counsel for the Anambra State Government, the presiding judge was unable to proceed with the matter and consequently adjourned the case to Friday, 19th June 2026, for further hearing.
Meanwhile, hundreds of worshippers, supporters and friends of the cleric who thronged the court premises in a show of solidarity expressed confidence that justice would prevail and that Bishop Nwankpa would ultimately be vindicated of the allegations against him.
