The Johannesburg High Court has postponed proceedings in the Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala case to Wednesday, as the State and defence continue pre-trial preparations in a 25-charge matter involving five accused.

The case involving alleged crime boss and businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his co-accused, including his wife, has been postponed to Wednesday in the Johannesburg High Court following further delays.

The accused - Musa Kekana, Tiego Floyd Mabusela, Matlala, his wife Tsakani Matlala, and Mabusela’s daughter Nthabiseng Nzama - appeared in court on Monday.

Matlala’s legal team had indicated its intention to bring an application compelling the State to provide outstanding particulars previously requested.

Nzama was not present in court.
