The government is preparing a broad package of tax relief measures for businesses, which it intends to unveil in September at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).Among the measures under consideration is the possible abolition of the presumptive taxation system for self-employed professionals as of 2027. Therefore, the measure will apply to tax returns filed in 2028.For the 2026 tax year (tax returns to be submitted in 2027), the government plans to further amend the presumptive taxation framework in an effort to reduce the distortions and inequities associated with the current system.In addition, the government is examining a reduction in advance income tax payments for all businesses, a cut in the corporate income tax rate, and the abolition of the business levy imposed on legal entities.
