FUT Esports just knocked the defending world champions out of VALORANT Masters London, and their in-game leader wants everyone to know it wasn’t a fluke.
Volkan “sociablEE” Yönal led his Turkish roster to a 2-1 victory over NRG Esports on June 10, eliminating the top seed from the Americas in the Swiss Stage. For a team that entered the tournament as a clear underdog against the 2025 world champions, the result was more than just a win. It was a statement.
How the maps played out
The series was tight from start to finish. NRG took the Lotus map, showing flashes of the form that carried them to a world title last year. But FUT responded with composure that belied their underdog status.
On Haven, FUT edged out a 14-12 victory. They followed it up with a 13-11 win on Fracture, sealing the series and sending NRG home far earlier than anyone expected.
