Real Madrid has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Marc Cucurella over a move from Chelsea. The 27-year-old Spanish left-back joined Chelsea from Brighton in August 2022 for a fee that could reach £63 million with add-ons.
Chelsea’s asking price and the contract leverage
Cucurella still has three years remaining on his Chelsea contract. Chelsea’s reported valuation sits in the range of €40-50 million. The club is said to be relaxed about the entire situation, comfortable holding onto a player under long-term contract who has performed well enough to attract interest from three of Spain’s biggest clubs.
Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with interest in the defender, making this a three-way race among Spanish giants for his signature.
