Proteas Women's team all-rounder Nadine de Klerk.

The Proteas will be hoping familiarity breeds success when they face Pakistan in an all-important ICC Women’s T20 World Cup clash at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Wednesday.

Laura Wolvaardt’s side slumped to a 65-run thrashing by Australia in their opening game, which could have severe implications in their bid to qualify for the knockout stages.

Group 1 is stacked with heavyweights, with 50-over world champions India also lying in wait after the Pakistan clash.

But before the Proteas can focus on India next Saturday in Manchester, they will have to overcome a side they have faced regularly in recent times.
