Greek tourism has shown strong resilience to heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East that have reshaped travel patterns across the Mediterranean.

According to official figures from the Bank of Greece, the country welcomed 3.4 million visitors during the first quarter of 2026, a 38.3% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.

Tourism revenues rose even faster, climbing 64.3% to €1.67 billion.

The performance comes after a record-breaking 2025 and amid concerns that regional instability could weigh on international travel demand.

Instead, industry analysts say the latest figures reinforce expectations for another successful tourism season.
