Temperatures are set to reach up to 27°C next week as warmer weather returns to the UK, the Met Office has forecast.

On Saturday, the highest recorded temperature was 22.4°C in Kent, with up to 26°C expected in south-west England on Sunday.

After a “brief blip” on Tuesday, the sunnier weather is expected to last throughout next week and “possibly drag out into the start of the following week, but mostly across the south-west,” a Met Office spokesperson told The i Paper.

The warmest weather will be felt in the south-east of England with “settled and warm” temperatures of up to 26 to 27°C, while the north-west is expected to experience rain with lower temperatures by next weekend.
