In Maine, Graham Platner faced no electoral repercussions for a pair of damaging reports that emerged in the final days of his campaign: The Wall Street Journal reported that the married Platner had been sexting several women, and the New York Times spoke with former girlfriends who described Platner as “volatile,” “toxic,” “demeaning to women,” and even “physically threatening.”
