The ad-free subscription YouTube Premium is becoming more expensive. Google is increasing subscription prices for both individual and family plans. Students and subscribers to the Premium Lite plan will also have to pay more in the future. This is the first price increase by YouTube in Germany since 2023.
Up to 4 Euros more per month
Google will charge 14.99 euros instead of the previous 12.99 euros for the individual YouTube Premium subscription – an increase of 2 euros. If you pay for the subscription for 12 months at once, it will cost 149.99 euros instead of 180 euros if paid monthly.
The company is significantly increasing the price of the family subscription, which can be shared with up to five other family members aged 13 and over: Instead of 23.99 euros, it will now cost 27.99 euros per month – 4 euros more. The discounted student subscription, which could previously be booked for 7.49 euros per month, now costs 8.99 euros per month – 1.50 euros more.
