YSR Congress Party supporters taking out a rally against the NDA government for their alleged failure in implementing the election promises

Members of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Thursday organised a massive protest, as part of its Statewide programme, ‘Vennupotuki Rendellu’ (Two Years of Betrayal), alleging that the NDA coalition government had failed to fulfil promises made to the people during the elections.Led by YSRCP Visakhapatnam district president K. K. Raju, the procession commenced from Dali Raju Super Market and ended at Akkayyapalem Highway. During the protest, party leaders and activists symbolically burnt copies of the NDA government’s election manifesto.Addressing the gathering, Rajya Sabha member Golla Babu Rao alleged that public anger against the NDA government has been increasing, as it failed to implement election promises in its entirety despite completing two years in office. He alleged that promises made to women, youth, farmers, labourers and other sections of society had been ignored after the elections.Former MP Botcha Jhansi alleged that schemes such as ‘Aadabidda Nidhi’, unemployment allowance, which were prominently highlighted during the election campaign, had not been implemented as promised.
