Protests were held across Andhra Pradesh on Monday as unemployed youth and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders staged demonstrations at district Collectorates, alleging large-scale irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process. Responding to a call given by the YSRCP Youth Wing, protestors gathered at district headquarters and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged scam, besides seeking the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh. The demonstrators accused the TDP-led coalition government of betraying job aspirants by promising a transparent recruitment process while allowing widespread irregularities in appointments. They alleged that recruitment under the sports quota was manipulated through special government orders issued specifically for the exercise and subsequently withdrawn. According to the protestors, several ineligible candidates obtained certificates and secured appointments, while eligible applicants were denied opportunities in favour of those who allegedly paid money to obtain jobs.Demonstrations were organised in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, Eluru, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Bapatla, Ongole, Nellore, Tirupati, Anantapur, Madanapalle, Kurnool, Nandyal and other district centres. In many places, protestors marched to Collectorates and submitted memoranda seeking an impartial investigation into the recruitment process.Tension prevailed in Visakhapatnam and Bapatla, where police reportedly stopped rallies and prevented demonstrators from proceeding towards the Collectorate premises.Several senior YSRCP leaders, including former Ministers and legislators, took part in the protests and accused the government of compromising the integrity of the recruitment process. The party reiterated its demand for a comprehensive CBI probe into all allegations related to DSC-2025 and insisted that Mr. Lokesh accept responsibility and step down pending investigation.
