Isolated heavy rainfall is likely to continue over a few districts in Kerala over the weekend, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) update on the southwest monsoon rainfall indicated on Friday.Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod are on yellow alert for isolated heavy rainfall on Saturday. Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur are on yellow alert on Sunday. All other districts can expect light to moderate rainfall on the two days.Weather systems, including an upper air cyclonic circulation over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh, a trough extending from east-central Arabian Sea to west-central Bay of Bengal, and an upper air cyclonic circulation over north interior Karnataka are influencing the current spell.As per the latest IMD updates, Kerala has so far recorded 22% excess rainfall this southwest monsoon season (between June 1 and June 12).
