Two persons robbed a 61-year-old woman of her jewellery and a mobile phone on a running train near Attur railway station on Thursday evening.According to police, P. Perma, a resident of Thanjavur district, was returning home from Bengaluru on Thursday after visiting her daughter. When the train, the Bengaluru-Karaikkal passenger, reached Attur railway station, her co-passengers got down, leaving her alone on the compartment.When the train pulled away from the station, two persons threatened her and robbed her of four sovereigns, including earrings, a chain and bangles, and a mobile phone.When the train neared the Thalaivasal railway station, robbers jumped from the running train and fled. After reaching the station, she alerted the railway police. The Salem Railway police registered a case and were checking the CCTV camera footage in the locality.
