Last month, the news broke that Shein had acquired Everlane. While it’s unclear what’s to come for the brand’s next iteration (founder Michael Preysman has launched a site since), we’ve started to look for our own alternatives. I spoke to 13 fashionable folks, Strategist staffers, and former Everlane loyalists to see where they’re shopping instead. I ended up with a mixed bag of things from sustainable companies and fast-fashion brands that are more affordable without sacrificing quality. Unsurprisingly, T-shirts came up the most, but I also unearthed recommendations for button-downs, denim to rival the beloved Cheeky Jean, shoes that could outwalk the Day Glove flats, and more wardrobe staples.
